How Galician is written
Galician is spoken in Galicia, in north-western Spain. Books in Galician use the Latin alphabet.
Galician sits between Portuguese and Spanish: it shares much of its vocabulary with Portuguese, but its standard spelling looks Spanish, with ñ and ll. A short text can pass for either.
