Listen to self-published books that never got an audiobook

Your favourite indie series stops at book three in audio, or never started. Drop the EPUB and carry on listening.

Why indie books often stay in print only

A self-published author pays for the audiobook out of pocket. A professional narrator easily costs more than the ebook will earn in a year, so many authors skip audio, or record only the first book of a series.

Indie authors often sell DRM-free

•
Buy direct from the author’s shop, newsletter or a store that sells DRM-free files, and you get an EPUB you can listen to.
•
Reader copies and newsletter giveaways usually come as plain EPUB or PDF.
•
Kindle files work when they are DRM-free (MOBI, AZW3).

Binge the series by ear

1.
Drop the EPUB here. Chapter titles come straight from the book.
2.
Pick a narrator who fits the genre: warm for romance, steady for thrillers, a British voice for a cosy mystery.
3.
Listen on your phone, carry on at your desk. When you finish, drop the next book.

Questions people ask

Is this an official audiobook of the book?

No. It is your personal listening copy of a book you own, made for you alone. If the author releases an audiobook, that is the one to buy for a narrator’s performance.

My indie ebook came from a big store with DRM. Can I use it?

Not that copy: DRM-locked files open only in the store’s own app. Many indie authors sell the same book DRM-free from their own site.

How many books can I add?

Free includes 1 book of your own; Listener 3, Premium 15 and Ultra unlimited. Free classics in Discover never count.
