How Gulf Arabic is written
Gulf Arabic is spoken in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and eastern Saudi Arabia.
Books in the Arab world are usually written in Modern Standard Arabic; for those, choose Arabic, which has its own site. Choose Gulf Arabic for text written in the dialect, such as colloquial dialogue or Nabati poetry.
What to upload
•
EPUB, DOCX, TXT, HTML, RTF, MOBI, AZW3 or FB2 with real Gulf Arabic text, up to 10 MB and DRM-free.
•
PDFs need a text layer: a scan of printed pages without one has no text to read. Try selecting a line of Gulf Arabic in the PDF: if you can copy it, there is text to read.
•
Right-to-left text is read in its natural order; keep the file as Unicode text, as modern ebooks and word processors save it.
•
No file? Paste a link to a web article and it becomes a book too.
