How Maithili is written
Maithili is spoken in Bihar, India, and south-eastern Nepal.
Maithili is written in Devanagari today; its own traditional script, Tirhuta (Mithilakshar), is being revived. It shares the script with Hindi and Nepali, so a Maithili text can be taken for either.
