Turn Pashto books into audiobooks

Drop a book in Pashto and hear it read aloud in seconds, with Premium voices. Pashto is a Beta language: well supported, with quality that varies more from voice to voice than in our 42 main languages.

How Pashto is written

Pashto is spoken in Afghanistan and north-western Pakistan.
Pashto uses an extended Arabic alphabet with letters of its own, for example for its retroflex sounds, and Afghan and Pakistani spelling differ in places. Because Persian uses a similar alphabet, a short text can be taken for Persian.

What to upload

•
EPUB, DOCX, TXT, HTML, RTF, MOBI, AZW3 or FB2 with real Pashto text, up to 10 MB and DRM-free.
•
PDFs need a text layer: a scan of printed pages without one has no text to read. Try selecting a line of Pashto in the PDF: if you can copy it, there is text to read.
•
Right-to-left text is read in its natural order; keep the file as Unicode text, as modern ebooks and word processors save it.
•
No file? Paste a link to a web article and it becomes a book too.
