How Tamil is written
Tamil is spoken in Tamil Nadu in India, Sri Lanka, Singapore and Malaysia.
Tamil script has fewer letters than other Indian scripts and marks a consonant without a vowel with a dot, the pulli. Older documents typed in legacy encodings such as TAM, TAB or Bamini fonts need converting to Unicode first.
