How the estimate works
Professional audiobook narration runs at about 150 to 160 words per minute; a relaxed reading is nearer 130, a brisk one 175, and listeners who speed up playback often settle around 200. The calculator divides the word count by each pace. Page counts are converted at 275 words per page, the average for a trade paperback; use the word count when you know it.
